This is a story about our client—a story I wish never had to be told.

Last fall, Paul Weber’s life changed forever when he was hit while working on the side of the road just north of Spokane. First responders saved his life, but the injuries were catastrophic. Both of Paul’s legs had to be amputated.

Today, Paul is fighting his way back—learning to walk again at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Medical Center. His physical therapist says Paul is exceptionally strong, hardworking, and motivated—the same traits that made him a dedicated U.S. Marine.

Work zone safety isn’t just about traffic cones and warning signs. It’s about people.

The consequences of carelessness are very real. In an instant, someone’s future—or their life—can be taken away.

The next time you drive through a work zone, I hope you’ll think about Paul.

Think about every worker who shows up and puts themselves at risk to keep our roads and communities safe.

Slow down. Pay attention. Protect the people behind the vests.
